Public transportation

The list below contains the various methods of public transportation that can get you to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. AMTRAK

Northeast corridor AMTRAK trains stop at 30th Street Station. See SEPTA Regional Rail Lines or SEPTA City Trains and Trolleys for information on traveling to the Hospital from 30th Street Station. Taxi service also is available at 30th Street Station.

GREYHOUND Bus Lines

From the Greyhound Bus Station at 10th and Filbert streets, walk to the Market East Station at 11th and Market streets. From there, take the Airport, Wilmington/Newark, or Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Lines to the University City Station. A taxi ride from the Greyhound Bus station costs about $12.

New Jersey PATCO trains

Take the PATCO line to 8th and Market streets. Follow the underground concourse to the SEPTA Jefferson Station. From there, the Airport, Wilmington/Newark, and Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Lines provide direct service to the University City Station. Or you may transfer from PATCO at 8th and Market streets to the SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway). Take the westbound train to 34th and Market streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street takes you to the Hospital.

SEPTA Regional Rail lines

The Airport, Wilmington/Newark, Media/Elwyn and most Glenside/Jenkintown, Warminster and West Trenton trains provide direct service to the University City Station. From other Regional Rail Lines, transfer free to the Airport, Wilmington/Newark, or Media/Elwyn at 30th Street or Jefferson Stations. Your train ticket is your transfer.

SEPTA city trains and trolleys

The SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway) stops at 34th and Market Streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street or a five-minute ride on the LUCY Shuttle takes you to the Hospital. All SEPTA Subway/Surface Green Line trolleys, except for the 10 trolley, stop underground at University Station (37th and Spruce) and Sansom Street station (36th and Sansom).
